It’s going to be an Owly Extravaganza!

We’re on our way to San Diego and we’ve got lots of goodies for everyone who’s coming to the show! My mom is coming with me this year, and it’s her first time ever in San Diego, so it’s going to be awesome! You’ll be able to find Owly and us at the Top Shelf booth (Booth #1721). We’ll be there with all 5 Owly graphic novels, prints, buttons, magnets and the BRAND NEW Limited Edition Owly Crafty Purse! I’ll only have a few of these so don’t wait until Sunday… or even Friday before you come and see them…. they’re adorable!!!
I’ll also have a copy of my upcoming, full-color Owly and Wormy picture book from Simon & Schuster at the table. If you haven’t heard about it, don’t worry, I’m not leaving my friends at Top Shelf, nor am I stopping my graphic novels. This was just a way to bring Owly to a whole new audience! There aren’t any words and it reads just like every other Owly story out there. The only difference is that it’s fully painted in color by yours truly and I think it turned out great! The book won’t be in stores until Spring of next year (April, 2011), but if you ask nicely, you can get a sneak peak and see what Friends All Aflutter is all about!

But wait, there’s more!!! As an Extra Special Bonus, Our friends at Sprite Animation came up with an absolutely amazing Owly finger puppet playset postcard! These are also extremely limited so you’ll have to come by early to grab one!

So come on by and see Robert Venditti, Van Jensen (right next to us at SLG) Matt Kindt, Jeff Lemire, Jose Villarrubia, and many more wonderful members of the Top Shelf family and some new ones I can’t wait to meet!!!! It’s going to be spectacular!!! ^,^

Springtime, Heroes, and ALA!

I’m proud to announce that I just put up the Spring Print in the Owly Store! It’s full of rainy happiness and who can resist Owly in his little slicker?!

This upcoming Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (June 4th, 5th, and 6th), we’ll be having a party on Indie Island at the amazing Heroes Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina!

Come on down to the show and stop by the Top Shelf table and say hi to Rob Venditti, Van Jensen, and myself…. and be sure to look around at all of the other artists at the show, including my good friends, J.Chris, Duane and Justin, Josh, Rob ,the AdHouse crew, the guys from the Dollar Bin, Ben, Jim, and many many more!!!

The atmosphere and the wonderful family-friendly nature of this show makes it one of my favorites! I’ll be doing sketches, we’ll have Free Owly & Friends Comics to give away, and we’ll be selling books, shirts, toys, hats, and Owly original art! And there’ll be no time for restin’ because right after that, Owly and I will be on our way to Washington DC for ALA!

I’d also like to extend a very special thanks to everyone who bid on my doodles for National Doodle Day! Together we raised over $300 from my Doodles alone. You all are the best! ^,^
