Or at least… very soon thereafter! The way the distribution works out it may take a few more days to get to your specific store, but rest assured, Owly Volume 4, A Time to Be Brave is on it’s way to everybody! :) Many apologies for the lack of updates, but I’ve been working hard on all things Owly so that the holidays will be a wonderful time for all of the Owly fans out there! Thank you all for your encouragement and kind words! It really means the world to me and I’ll be answering my large backlog of fan letters and emails a little each day so you’ll probably be hearing from me soon. :)
As you can see, Owly Volume 4 has a brand new painted cover design, a new earthy look. The book is the same size as the others so it’ll still look nice on your shelf but you may notice that although the book is 130 pages long, it’ll look a bit thinner than the other books. That’s because we are happy to announce that this printing of Owly is printed on 100% recycled paper! This particular print run will use about 8,400 pounds of paper… and with the new paper stock we’ll be saving saving about 71.4 trees!
I’d also like to point out that after long-last,The Owly Store is expanding and will continue to do so over the next couple weeks! My mom has been hard at work and the Owly Hats are in stock for the holidays and are available for immediate purchase! Watch the store for changes. we’ll be adding more and more items as time goes on!
Owly and I thank you all for your support! :D

It’s time again for The San Diego Comic-Con! My latest book isn’t quite finished… but I will have a few convention-exclusive goodies for sale at the show for all of the loyal Owly fans! The first one is something my mom and I have been working on for quite some time. You can see the end-result on the right… It’s an Owly Hat!!! Each one is hand-made by my mom but supplies are limited, so you’ll have to get yours quickly! If we run out before you get one or if you can’t make it out to the show, don’t worry. We’ll offer them online as soon as she can make more. :) Check back here after Owly, Book 4 comes out for more details!
In San Diego you’ll be able to find Owly and me at the Top Shelf booth (Booth #1721) along with Robert Venditti, Matt Kindt, Jeremy Tinder, Christian Slade, Andy Hartzell, Jeff Lemire, David Yurkovich, Jose Villarrubia, Renee French, Eddie Campbell, Jeffrey Brown, and many more wonderful members of the Top Shelf family!
At the show I’ll be signing books, doing “Owly As…”sketches, and have original Owly pages for sale! I’ve even done a series of full-color paintings for the show that you can see below! These are one-of-a-kind pieces so they won’t be cheap, but they’ll make a wonderful gift that special Owly fan. Each original painting measures 3″x4″ and is hand-painted by yours truly. They come mounted with little black Owly-style photo-corners on color-coordinated 5″x7″ card-stock and ready to frame! :)

I’m going to be signing everyday for as long as I can and I’ll also be on a panel with lots of my friends called The Many Faces of the Graphic Novel on Thursday at 12:30. It’s going to be a crazy amazing show! See you there!!! :D
