It’s that time of year again!

The brand new Owly & Friends comic books are here and that means that Free Comic Book Day is almost here! Don’t forget to mosey on into your favorite comic book store on Saturday May 3rd and pick up a great selection FREE comics! Just Click here to find the participating store nearest you!

This year’s offering from Top Shelf is an all-ages mini-anthology! Inside you’ll find an all new 10 page Owly story, a brand new tale from Christian Slade’s Korgi, one starring James Kochalka’s best little ghost, Johnny Boo, and a sneak-peak at Cori Barba’s upcoming Yam!

I’ll be spending Free Comic Book Day at the wonderful New England Comics in Boston, Massachusetts! I’ll be sure to give everybody more details about that as the day gets closer. I’ve never been to Boston so I can’t wait to spend this wonderful day in that glorious city!

I’ve also updated the site with a brand new Teaching section, featuring the Owly Lesson Plans! My 2008 Tour Schedule (below, right) has also gotten a refresh and I added a few other tidbits here and there. I’ll be adding more as time goes on so be sure to check back soon! :)

Hi Andy,

Can’t wait for FreeComicBookDay to arrive! Can’t believe that ComicCon is around the corner as well. Hope to buy more hats AND perhaps you will have the hardcover versions of OWLY Vols. 1 and 4 for sale as well. See you then!

OK Andy,
I just finished using your lesson on making an icon dictionary with my second graders – it was a big hit!!!

Thanks again :)

Boy, you’ve been busy Andy!

Those lesson plans are cool. Although, I was thinking they were going to teach me how to pot plants. :( Might I suggest that you and your Mom work on preparing a practical “how-to” guide of things Owly likes to do.

Hope you have fun in Boston, but I wish you were coming to Baltimore instead…September is a long time to wait. Of course, I’ll have to get all those new Owly covers and I’m looking forward to the new anthology as well.

One of the places Pam and I got to eat at while staying in Atlanta recently was Fellini’s Pizza on Ponce De Leon. It’s my favorite place to have a salad (Their pizza is great too). Unfortunately, we were a little too stuffed from lunch at the Blue Willow Inn to have dessert at Zesto’s afterwards.

Take care,

Matthew
