A New Look for an Old Friend!

We are pleased to announce that the 3rd printing of Owly: The Way Home & the Bittersweet Summer is now available!

This new edition has been updated with a brand new painted cover and I’m happy to announce that, just like Owly, Volume 4, this volume is tree friendly and printed on 100% recycled paper!

Read or rediscover the book that started it all! Find out how Owly met his best friend, Wormy and how they befriend a pair of hummingbirds and learn that saying goodbye doesn’t mean forever. :) And remember, Owly makes a perfect gift for family or friends of all ages! Especially for those who think that comics aren’t for them ;). Buy your copy from my friends at Top Shelf today! :)

I was wondering when we would be getting the new covers on the old volumes. Wow, that’s an awesome image. Looks like I’ll have to get the new version too! :) Great pop culture reference in your post. When my Uncle Richard died, my mother gave me the 45 rpm of the Goodbye Girl single with a note on the sleeve, stating that “goodbye doesn’t mean forever”.

Hi Andy,

Happy New Year! Great seeing you last summer at Comic-Con! I finally had a chance to pick up Vol. 4 and it’s definitely worth the wait! (That reminds me, need to buy copies of the hardcover Vol. 1) Any updates on your tour for 2008? Planning on attending Wonder Con next month here in San Francisco? Take care!

Oh, I am so very happy to hear this news! Owly 2,3, and 4 made their way under the Christmas tree for me this year after I sat reading Owly 1 in a public library in another city, so transfixed… I’d lost my voice, but needed to keep the kids happy while we were waiting for my husband. I read Owly ‘out loud’ to them, vocalizing the question marks and exclamations. They’re 8 and 10. We were all dazzled by the story and by the art.

And, I did notice right away that it was printed on recycled paper, and I’d been meaning to write and say thank you for that.

I work at a wildlife rehabilitation clinic in Texas, and I took a photo the other day of one of our patients. He looked so damned familiar to me. I couldn’t place him at all until I came across a stack of my comics…
