Owly says… “READ!”

I’m incredibly honored and proud to announce that Owly and his woodland friends are now the stars of their very own “READ” poster for the American Library Association! Your Library (or even you!) can order the 22″ x 28″ poster here!

And if you’d like something a little smaller, you can order a big pack of Owly bookmarks and share the READ message with 99 of your friends!

I’m super excited about these because I’ve loved seeing all of the different READ posters in the library for as long as I can remember and its unbelievable to be a part of this wonderful program that promotes literacy. As you can see, Owly says READ in his very own way. My extra-special thanks go out to Leigh, Rachel, Tina, Terrance and everyone at the ALA for all of their wonderful ideas and support! ^,^

Oh, and just an update on my last story, SPX was wonderful and the Owly-Caster went to the wonderful Miss Julia for over $2,000! Thank you again, Julia! Both the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund and I really appreciate it! :D

Baltimore and SPX are gonna rock! :)

Owly and I are heading back on the road! First it’s up to Baltimore for the Baltimore Comic-Con and then it’s back up to Bethesda for SPX! We’re going to have lots of our friends with us at both of these conventions and it’s gonna be a blast! be sure to come out and show your support and say hi to Owly and me, as well as Van Jensen, Matt Kindt, Alex Robinson, Tim Sievert, Christian Slade, Jeff Lemire, Jose Villarrubia, Jeffrey Brown, and many more wonderful members of the Top Shelf family!

My friends from Wide Awake will also be there with their wonderful books, as will the good peoples of AdHouse! I’ll be signing books, selling, shirts, hats, toys (only a few plushies left!), buttons, doing “Owly As…”sketches, and have original Owly pages for sale.

On top of that, my SPX friends asked me to paint a guitar to help them raise money for the CBLDF, and so I did! Here it is. :) It has affectionately been named the Owly-Caster and it will be auctioned at SPX with all funds going to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. You can read more about it and see lots of process pictures here!

So come on down to the shows and say hi! :) Rock on and we’ll see you on the Road!
