Owly, my mom, and I are delighted to be on our way to awesome Greenville, South Carolina this weekend for the inaugural year of the SC ComiCon!
As always, I’ll be selling and signing Owly books, shirts, prints, baby prints, buttons, magnets, hats, purses, original art, toys and all of the other Owly merchandise, as well as drawing custom Owly Commissions!
We’ll be at the show all weekend, hanging out with our good friends J. Chris Campbell, Duane Ballenger, Robert Venditti, Van Jensen, Justin Gammon, Matthew Smith, Rico Renzi, and many, many more! It’s going to be an amazing show and we hope we see you there!!! :)

Neurofibromatosis is a genetic disorder that affects one in every 2,500 births. 115 babies are born with this genetic disorder each day. NF is more common than Cystic Fibrosis, Muscular Dystrophy, and Huntington’s Disease combined.
As part of NF Awareness Month, I painted two watercolor Owly doodles that will be auctioned on eBay from May 8th to May 18th.
Doodle 1 features Owly and Wormy happily playing in a forest pool with our actual fishies (Goldie II and Spotty II), who will star in the new upcoming Owly graphic novel. Doodle 2 features Owly and Wormy saying hello to a little bluebird, cardinal, and gold finch on a sunny hillside!
It’s an unpredictable disease that causes tumors to form on the nerves. Depending on their location, these tumors can cause disfigurement, dysfunction, deafness or blindness. In the wrong place they can be fatal. If that weren’t enough, NF can also cause learning disabilities, seizures, bone deformity, and cancer. Despite the many researchers studying this devastating condition, there is still no cure, and treatments are largely inadequate.
I lost my cousin, Kathleen to NF. She was a kind and lovely soul and I will do anything I can to help others affected with this horrible disease.
100% of the funds raised will benefit NF, Inc., an organization dedicated to providing support to individuals and families affected by neurofibromatosis by providing education, advocacy, coalitions, research for treatments, and a cure.
